A guide to Mũi Né's top spots and the ideal season to kite.

Go kitesurfing in Mũi Né, Southeast Asia's Hotspot

With an impressive 230 windy days a year, Mũi Né is Southeast Asia’s best kitesurfing destination. Once a small fishing village, it has become Vietnam’s premier kitesurfing spot, drawing riders from around the world. The area combines consistent winds, stunning beaches, and a laid-back vibe, making it ideal for both beginners and advanced kitesurfers.

Mũi Né offers a range of conditions, from flat waters for learning to challenging waves for experienced riders. Thanks to its reliable winds, often exceeding 12 knots, kitesurfing is a year-round activity here. Now Mũi Né can get quite crowded, especially at the popular Kite Beach. So if you're looking for some quieter riding vibes, check out Phan Rang, another excellent kite spot about 130 km north of Mũi Né.

Mũi Né's kite season

The peak season for kitesurfing in Mũi Né is from November to March, when the Northeast Monsoon brings strong, consistent winds ranging from 20 to 25 knots, often surpassing 30 knots in the afternoons. Within this season, the optimal months for the most consistent and strong winds are December through February, making it the prime time to experience the best of Mũi Né’s kitesurfing conditions, with clear skies and minimal rain.

The summer season from May to October offers lighter winds, typically between 10 to 20 knots, and more frequent rain. While the conditions are more relaxed, this period still provides plenty of opportunities for kitesurfing, especially for those who prefer a less intense experience.
